BOSS BABES
BOSS BABES
Espūma co-owners Jamie Kay (she/her) and Hope Hines (she/her) have called the Pacific Northwest their home for most of their lives. They currently reside in Spokane Washington, giving the eastern side of their state a taste of all the two entrepreneurs have learned from their training and previous undertakings in Portland, Oregon, and Vancouver, Washington.
Jamie Kay knew she wanted to be her own boss at the outset of her journey in the coffee industry. When she met Hope, the two found they had complementary skill sets and a similar vision of the future. Hope strives to provide equal opportunities to others who come from a similar background of poverty and hardship.
As a family-owned company, Espūma will focus on nurturing and preserving the whole coffee chain, from grower to consumer, for future generations to enjoy.

Jamie Kay
MEET THE BOSS | ROASTER | THRILL JUNKY
Jamie Kay has had a complex journey into the world of coffee. As the self-designated home barista in her family since the age of 12, she has always had a knack and passion for the craft.
When she's not geeking out about her latest extraction techniques and how they interact with a roast profile, you can find her pining away for a sandy beach and sunshine. She loves to surf, longboard, bike, or ride just about anything that's fast and has wheels.
Maybe you will spot her cruzing along, delivering fresh bags coffee in your neighborhood.

HOPESTER
MEET THE OTHER CHICK
In her early life, Hope's mother influenced her love of coffee.
"I remember her waking up to make a pot of black coffee, and getting excited to help her put her 3 sugar packets and 2 splashes of milk into the mug. Then my mom would pour me my own cup of coffee with the same sugar and milk, and I would feel so important and warm."
At first, Hope's minority status and underprivileged background were an obstacle for her in the industry. Without the "right" look and presentation, she experienced prejudice in the hiring process and was overlooked.
But she wouldn't give up on herself. Not willing to accept the seeds of self-doubt from her environment, Hope leaned into the teaching that she could accomplish whatever she put her mind to.
With a lot of hard work, she proved all the haters wrong.
In her free time, Hope enjoys photography, marketing, and production for Espūma. You can find her following Jamie around and/or searching for that next adventure.
Hope loves, camping, surfing (California Beach kid), skating, hiking, creating with her hands, and her favorite thing to do is to sit on the beach, watching the waves, breathing in the good Mother Nature aroma to get some chill vibes.
